Basket of Hope was built around a simple promise: provide enough food for a household to plan, cook and eat with dignity for an entire month.
The project
Each package included rice, lentils, flour, oil, salt, sugar, onions, potatoes, dates, milk powder and chicken. The selection was intended to cover the staple ingredients a household would need to plan and cook meals over an extended period.
Volunteers from Hashi Ekshathe, Eunoia Society and Color in Dreams handled the process from planning and packing to door-to-door delivery in Mirpur. The field record emphasises a month of food security rather than a one-day meal.
The second phase supported ten families with one month of groceries each. The project’s two documented phases established a repeatable model for household-level food support.
