Our name

Hashi Ekshathe
হাসি একসাথে

The name means “smile together.” It reflects an idea present from the beginning: progress is built alongside people, not delivered from a distance.

The work started with direct activities in Dhaka and Rangpur. Student teams have since responded to floods, fires, extreme heat, winter cold and food insecurity, while also supporting education and sharing useful public information.

The organisation remains grounded in student energy, regional coordination and documentation that distinguishes completed outcomes from targets or estimates.

Working principles

Four standards for the work.

01

Stay close

Start with people who understand the place and the immediate need.

02

Protect dignity

Recipients are people, not content. Documentation must never come first.

03

Be useful

Design each activity around a clear, practical outcome.

04

Show the record

Publish what is known and be explicit about what is not yet measured.
